ADAMANT is a decentralized messenger that does not require a phone number or email. It does not request access to your contacts, and new chats are started using anonymous addresses. The messenger is available on Web, Tor, iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, and GNU/Linux.
Creating an Account
After choosing an application language, select Create new and save the generated passphrase. This passphrase is the only credential needed to log in on any device, so it must be kept secret and cannot be recovered if lost. No username is required because the passphrase is unique. New accounts can receive welcoming ADM tokens by tapping Free ADM Tokens on the Account tab and solving a captcha.
Settings
For faster logins on a single device, enable Stay logged in and set a local password. The passphrase is still required when logging in on other devices. Push notifications can be enabled to alert you of new messages.
Contacts and Starting Chats
Your ADAMANT address, shown on the Account tab, looks like U8281862340475070014 and is unique. You can share it as plain text, as a link such as https://msg.adamant.im?address=U8281862340475070014, or as a QR code. Opening the link in a browser takes the recipient directly to a chat with you after they log in or create an account.
To start a chat, open the Chats tab, tap Start a new chat, and paste your partner’s address or scan their QR code. You can assign a custom name to each contact. Emoji are supported via the native keyboard on mobile, Win + ”.” on Windows, or Ctrl + Cmd + Space on macOS.
Crypto Wallets and Transfers
ADAMANT includes built-in cryptocurrency wallets. For example, selecting Ethereum on the Account tab reveals your ETH deposit address, which can be funded from any external wallet. Once a transfer confirms, the balance and transaction history update automatically.
You can send cryptocurrency to direct addresses from the Account tab or to chat partners directly. In a conversation, press ”+” and choose Send ETH, then enter the amount and an optional comment. The transfer appears in the chat, and the recipient’s balance is updated.
Bots
ADAMANT supports bots, including a cryptocurrency exchanger and a betting bot that are preloaded in the wallet. To use the exchanger, send it /help, then transfer the cryptocurrency you want to exchange and specify the desired output currency in the comment.
