ADAMANT has postponed its exchange listing to the fourth quarter of 2018. The decision reflects both market conditions and technical considerations that make an immediate listing counterproductive for investors and the project alike.
The team currently has more than ten listing offers from top-100 CoinMarketCap exchanges, with prices starting at 0.2 BTC. However, listing at the present time would likely harm the project rather than help it. Given the broad cryptocurrency market downturn, low trading volumes after listing could drive the ADM token price below its ICO level. According to icodrops.com statistics, more than 95% of tokens are currently unprofitable relative to their ICO price.
A technical factor also contributes to the delay. ADM is not an ERC-20 token, which complicates exchange integration and prompts additional legal information requests from many platforms.
The postponement should benefit ADM token holders. ADAMANT remains one of the few blockchain projects with a real-world application — a decentralized messenger that continues to gain features. The team has grown to 15 developers, recently adding support for Binance Coin transfers, and has sufficient funding to sustain development. Over 100,000 accounts have been created to date. Before listing, the team plans to secure new partners and investors and expand the user base, which should positively influence trading volumes and the ADM token’s starting price in Q4 2018.
While falling behind the original roadmap is regrettable, the team prioritizes investor interests and product stability over meeting an arbitrary timeline.
